My Little Monkey

Happy Halloween! I'm a day early, but we've been celebrating the past few days. Bennett wore his costume Saturday to Pumpkinfest in Nashville, wore it again Sunday to Tailgate and Treats at church, and then again Monday to our Halloween playgroup. I can easily say we've got our money's worth (even though it was hand-me-down).:) Poor kid. I'm convinced he'll rebel as a teenager because I dressed him up in this silly costume, but it's too cute. Cousin Trey is also a monkey. We had a blast watching the boys play this weekend. Bennett was too small for the petting zoo, but as you can see in the picture he was ready to go in.

Bennett is 10 Months Old

Actually yesterday Bennett was 10 months old. I can't believe how fast this first year is going by....slow down! My baby is growing up too fast. Bennett is so funny. We had music class today and he gets all into it. I've decided I need to get one of those instruments the teacher blows into....no kidding, Bennett stops in his tracks and perks up the minute she starts to play. Reminds me a lot of the Umpa Lumpas (sp) when Willie Wonka summoned them. Back to my point...10 months!! He's pulling up on EVERYTHING sometimes successfully and sometimes tipping over onto his head. Very impressive either way. If I were saavy enough, I'd video his "commando" crawl and put it on the blog. The child refuses to lift his tummy off the ground. My sister inlaw said I should tape a wet paper towel to his belly and let him clean my floors. Everyday brings something new. This is by far the best job I've ever had!

A Day At the Park

This is my favorite time of year. The air is crisp, the leaves are changing and the sun is still shining. Just perfect. We've been blessed with gorgeous weather this entire weekend and we made the most of it. Saturday my friend, Callie, Bennett and I went up to the Marietta Square for Harvestfest. The Marietta Square is darling. Aligned with the cutest boutiques, antique shops and wonderful restaurants, it has that small town feel when really only minutes from downtown Atlanta. We shopped and had lunch and just enjoyed being outside. Bennett was a trooper hanging with the girls. The boys were busy watching the Vols take a beating. Today after church, we ran home and changed into our play clothes and headed back out for some fun. Bennett loves the swings at the park. It's a good thing since that's really the only thing on the playground that he can enjoy at this point. Shhh, don't tell him that. He thinks he owns that playground. We did try out the slide as you'll see in one of this pictures....not a hit just yet. We'll keep working on that one. I took a few pics of him playing today. I think Fletcher had as much fun as Bennett!

Picking Out a Pumpkin

Today our playgroup took a trip to the Berry Farms Pumpkin Patch for a hayride and apple cider. Bennett had lots of pumpkins to pick from and finally picked his favorite one. All of the kids seemed to love the tractor pulling us on the hayride. AND we got to celebrate Pearce's 1st Bday and Henry's 3rd. Happy Birthday guys!! The cupcakes were delish!

Hitting the Beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama

This past week, Fletcher, Bennett and I were in Gulf Shores with CeCe & Pops and the whole crew. It was a blast. Bennett's second trip to the beach, but the first time he could actually dip his feet into the ocean. He loved it. Fletcher got in the water with him and he seemed a little thrown by the waves coming in and out. Our nephew, Trey, who is almost two was a hoot. He was fearless! I loved watching him play in the sand and all the new words he learned in just a week. So neat to be able to look ahead to what life will be like next year.....but in the meantime, I'm enjoying my two boys!

Thanks CeCe & Pops for a wonderful trip to the beach!
