Deck the Halls

We've been busy today decorating the house for Christmas. Mom and I bought our wreaths and found a sweet little train to go around the tree. The idea was that it might keep Bennett away for the ornaments and more consumed with the "choo-choo" as he calls it. So far, so good. Fletcher and Bennett had a great time tonight watching the smoke come out of the engine and letting it go around and around. Love my boys!

Happy Thanksgiving 2008

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We had a wonderful day enjoying the beautiful weather and counting our blessings. Although we were few in number this year, we celebrated with a feast. We stayed home (close to the hospital) this year and Fletcher smoked his first turkey. Mom and I did the sides and Bennett did the playing. This morning he couldn't wait to get outside and help Daddy get the smoker ready. All bundled up, Bennett played and played....he did slow down long enough to sip on Fletcher's coffee. He looked like a little old man carrying that coffee cup. We are so blessed by our family and friends and hope everyone had a great day. Happy Thanksgiving!

Picking up Nina

We picked up Nina at the airport on Tuesday and couldn't wait to see her. We were stopped at a red light when I noticed Bennett's sunglasses. Had to take a moment to take a picture.

Decorating the Tree

I know it's a little early for this. I usually make it a point to wait until after Thanksgiving to start decorating, but under the circumstances, we wanted to make sure we got the tree up this year. Bennett is a huge help. CeCe found us the perfect tree and I spent the afternoon getting out our Christmas decorations. When I didn't find many of our ornaments, I remembered trashing some of the old, yucky ones from last year with the intention of hitting the post-holiday sales and restocking. Bennett did a great job hanging the few we had left. We'll be making a quick trip to grab more tomorrow. Fletcher got home from school in time to take a few pictures of Bennett in action. Please disregard my humongous belly....we're about 10 days from due date.

Let's Party

I'm kicking myself for not taking my camera to the little birthday party we went to this morning. The kids were so sweet playing and sitting on the tablecloth in the kitchen floor having their cookies. Although I have nothing to show for the actual party, I did get a picture of Bennett enjoying his little goodie bag. He's loving the green shades. Thanks Will for the great take-home bag and for inviting us. Happy Birthday!

Looking for Sammy

CeCe and Pops came down to visit with Bennett. I've been terrible about taking pictures these last few weeks, but I did manage to get a few. Pops and Bennett love looking for Sammy the Squirrel.

Watching Movies

I'm thrilled to say we're finally at the point when Bennett will sit down and watch a movie. He doesn't watch a ton of TV, but once he was introduced to The Polar Express he was hooked. He wakes up asking to watch it and we've since added in The Bee Movie and Barnyard (for Mom's sanity). I can only watch a movie so many times. Fletcher entertained Bennett this afternoon so I could get some rest. When I woke up, I found them both watching. Not sure who likes these movies more....us or him.

What We Find In Drawers

Not sure why we have these, but we have a ton of mardi gras beads. Fletcher had a helo break down in New Orleans this past year on Fat Tuesday and came home with some souvenirs. Bennett was digging through a drawer that obviously needs to be cleaned out and this is what he found. We had to put them all on. The funny part to me was when I asked him to "say cheese and open his eyes" this is the expression I got. Bless his heart, he was a little confused about where his eyes were.

Ali's Bday Party

It's been a busy week, but I don't have very many pictures to show for it. I'm getting lazy....Saturday Bennett went to his friend, Ali's birthday party. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a blast playing outside (all with runny noses). They snacked on goldfish and cupcakes and Bennett is loving the slinky out of his party gift bag.
