This past weekend Fletcher and I headed out west to Portland, Oregon for our friend, Dave Meany's wedding. We met up with the Barber's and Caldwell's in the airport and immediately picked up where we left off about 3 years ago. It was like no time had passed at all....a little scary. I do, however, know that the late nights eventually catch up with you since I could barely keep my eyes open by this afternoon. We did a little sight-seeing and a lot of drinking wine and catching up. CeCe and Pops stayed with the boys, so we were footloose and fancy-free for 3 nights. We had an awesome time telling old stories and laughing like it was the first time we'd heard them. There are far too many highlights to list them all, but a few include the taxi ride with Travis, Jeff wearing Sweet Lou's nantucket reds to the rehearsal dinner, crazy Suzanna, and "Congratulations, welcome to the moooooon!". We're blessed with good friends!

Fletcher & Bennett Ride the Train
Fletcher was off on Monday, so he took Bennett up to Blue Ridge to ride the train. They made a day of it. They rode the train from Blue Ridge to Copperhill, TN, had lunch and rode it back. Bennett is obsessed with trains, so he loved every minute of it. Fletcher did a great job of documenting. Beau and I stayed home to catch up on some "chores"....Momma needed a day of rest with my baby. We're looking forward to taking the whole family up and doing it again.

Carving Pumpkins w/ Friends
Tonight we had some dear friends come over for chili and a pumpkin carving contest. The dads took charge of the pumpkins while the kids played. We had a great time watching the guys get creative (or not so much) with their carving skills and the kids had more fun trying to blow out the candles. It was a wild bunch....9 kids ranging in age from 3 months to 3 and a half. Whew! Oh and my apologies to our sweet friends who ate the chili. I should have realized my mistake when our guests were sweating....I put in ground red pepper instead of chili powder. Ouch!! That chili had some heat!!!

Sandestin 2009
We just got back last night from spending the week with the Tidwell's and Woodcock's in Sandestin. We had an awesome time and the weather couldn't have been better. It was absolutely gorgeous. Bennett had a blast playing with Cousin Trey while Beau and Waller Beth got acquainted. We enjoyed great family time, delicious food, and fun in the sun. Thanks CeCe and Pops for a wonderful vacation!

Fun-filled Fall Saturday
Friday night we took the boys to the fair and I'm kicking myself for leaving the camera in the car. The boys had a great time. Bennett got to ride some rides and he, Fletcher, and Beau shared a funnel cake. Wish I had pictures of that. BUT I did take some pictures of the boys yesterday. Fletcher had to work all weekend, so I took the boys up to the square for the book fair. The firemen were there handing out hats, Bennett got his face painted, and we even got to hear a few local authors read their books. What a great way to enjoy the beautiful weather! The boys had on their Vols gear in hopes of bringing good luck for the game last night....didn't happen, but we don't think it was personal. Oh, and I have to add, Beau had a blow-out right when we got home (which explains why he was naked looking out the window).
