We celebrated Beau's 1st birthday a week early while we were in Nashville, so he could enjoy his cake in front of friends and family. CeCe whipped up a homemade chocolate cake with fudge icing and Beau loved every bit of it. He had a blast playing with his cousins. Thanks to CeCe and Pops for hosting and to everyone for the wonderful bday presents.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving morning Fletcher and I started our day off by running the Gobble Jog 10K. We rushed home, loaded the car, grabbed the kids, and headed to Nashville to spend the rest of the day with CeCe and Pops. We had a wonderful dinner and enjoyed watching the kids get to play with their cousins. In an effort to get the kids to calm down, we put on Snow White.....Bennett has yet to stop asking me about the "bad witch" and he thinks the 7 dwarfs are trolls.

Quality Time
We've been savoring every second with Nina here visiting. This afternoon we went for a walk around the neighborhood while Bennett rode his "motorcycle" and Beau drove the car. After nap time, we caught the squirrel having his daily munch on our pumpkin. The boys were glued to the window watching him dive in and out of the pumpkin eating seeds and all.

Raking w/ Nina
As many of you know, this past year my mom has battled lymphoma. She is in remission as a result of many of your prayers and has come to spend the week with us. Monday we were outside enjoying the beautiful fall weather and trying to make a dent in our leave-covered yard. I snapped a few pictures of Nina and the boys raking/playing.
Ali's Bday
Saturday morning we went to Ali's birthday party at Cupcake Charm where the kids got to decorate their own cupcakes. It was a precious idea. They were served juice in pretty glasses, wore personalized aprons, and got to ice and eat cupcakes. Bennett and Beau both enjoyed it. Bennett as usual was surrounded by his lady friends while Beau mixed and mingled working the crowd and begging for M&Ms.

Touchdown Texas!
Today we were watching Texas play UCF and decided to take a break and play outside. Bennett was running around shouting "hook 'em horns!" as he held up the okay symbol. We'll continue to work on the right hand motion, but at least he's got the right chant. The boys gave me their best touchdown sign! We've been blessed with the most beautiful weather this entire week and we've savored it for fear it may go away soon. Happy Saturday!

Taking Pictures
I got a new camera for my birthday and I'm trying to learn how to use it. I'm actually referencing the user manual which is a new thing for me (I hate reading manuals...I'd rather someone just show me). I took the boys for another picnic this afternoon hoping I could practice with my new camera. Although my camera works brilliantly, my subjects are not as cooperative. Never looking at the camera at the same time and rarely stopping for more than a second, I'll have to keep working at it. I had a great time trying. I never get tired of watching my boys play. I've decided I need an assistant. :)

Picnic at the Square
We've had such beautiful fall weather, so Wednesday the boys and I packed a lunch and had a picnic at the square. It's one of our favorite spots in town. Bennett loves playing on the train and now Beau is getting to experience the fun too. We played and enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air until it was time to come home and nap. This is my favorite time of year, so we're making the most of every moment.

Happy Halloween 2009
Happy Halloween! We had big plans for our Halloween this year. We were going to head to the pumpkin patch in the morning, come home for our afternoon nap, and then do all the trick or treating festivities that evening. We woke up to rain, rain, and more rain. We skipped the pumpkin patch opting to avoid a muddy mess. We slept in and had a nice lazy Saturday morning. We got back on schedule with our naps and woke up to find the rain had stopped. We threw on the boys' costumes...Bennett was a pilot and Beau was his co-pilot, and headed down to Maple Street for the 2nd Annual Maple Street Halloween Parade. The kids were too cute. We marched around the block, had some pizza, and voted to go watch the Georgia/Florida game with the Patrick's for a while. We headed home around dark and Bennett and Fletcher went out trick or treating in the rain while Beau and I handed out candy. Beau has the same candy policy as his momma....one for the trick or treaters and one for me...repeat the process!
